Roy Keane, the legendary former captain of Manchester United, has not held back in his criticism of Manchester City’s hierarchy. Speaking on ITV, Keane condemned the club's controversial financial practices, arguing that their triumphs on the pitch are seriously undermined by misdeeds off it.
Keane made his thoughts crystal clear amid the serious charges from the Premier League, highlighting the profound impact these allegations could have on the integrity of the sport.
"They knew this would hurt a lot of people, yet they did it anyway. If I were a player, I would absolutely throw those medals in the rubbish bin. Of course, you'd do that; it’s cheating. They’ve won on the pitch through fraud. I think it will be incredibly difficult for the players, the manager, and the club to stand by their ideals when their owners are happy to cheat. Maintaining the highest standards becomes tough under such circumstances,” he asserted.
