Roma have made a concrete attempt to sign Chelsea winger Jamie Gittens. According to Italian insider Alfredo Pedulla, the Roman club has submitted an official loan request for the 21-year-old England international.
Gittens is one of the players keenly admired by Roma's hierarchy, prompting the Italian outfit to explore the possibility of securing his services before the transfer window slams shut.
Pedulla provided further updates:
Roma have submitted an official loan request for Jamie Gittens to Chelsea. The player is highly regarded by the Roman club, which is why a concrete attempt has been made to sign him.
At present, Chelsea are not looking to consider a loan, at least at this stage of the transfer window. However, it’s a situation worth keeping an eye on.
Pedulla also touched upon another forward attracting Roma's interest — Malo Gusto from Lyon. Negotiations regarding him are currently paused, but the deal has not been completely ruled out.
As it stands, Gusto is focused on the upcoming match against Fenerbahce on August 26 in the Champions League, after which the situation may develop further.
