Young Liverpool winger Rio Ngumoah has shared how Mohamed Salah has played a pivotal role in his growth during the last months of the Egyptian's stint at the club. According to the 17-year-old, Salah provided vital advice on the psychology of the game and the importance of scoring goals.

In an interview with ITV Sport, Ngumoah revealed that Salah advised him to focus more on goals and assists if he aspires to reach the highest levels of the game.

“He taught me so much, especially towards the end when he knew he was leaving. He really helped me with the psychological side of things and explained how to approach my statistics properly,” Ngumoah said.

Ngumoah also reflected on his childhood hero, Neymar, but it is the experiences gained under Salah's mentorship at Liverpool that he values the most.
