Any sanctions imposed on Manchester City could come into effect without delay, even with the club lodging appeals. This was reported by journalist Ben Jacobs.
According to sources, the Citizens will have two stages of appeal regarding their financial misconduct case in the Premier League: the first stage concerns the verdict itself, while the second challenges the punishment handed down following the sanction hearings. Moreover, the Premier League also reserves the right to file its own appeal if it deems the imposed measures too lenient.
Both parties have 14 days from the decision to file their appeals, and the review process could take up to 12 weeks.
Sanctions, as I can confirm from my sources, will be applied immediately while City engages in the appeal process, Jacobs stated.
If protocols are followed, sanctions will be enforced while the club seeks to mitigate them. The process may be resolved before the end of the year.
