Nottingham Forest have successfully negotiated a transfer with Crystal Palace for Colombian full-back Daniel Munoz, believed to be worth £22m ($29.7m) including bonuses, according to The Athletic's trusted reporter, David Ornstein.
Munoz, who boasts international experience with Colombia, has already received clearance to undergo a medical examination prior to finalising the deal. The defender will sign a three-year contract with an option for a fourth year, reuniting with head coach Oliver Glasner, who previously guided him during his successful stint as a right-sided player in a three-centre-back formation.
Last season, Munoz was instrumental for Crystal Palace, helping the club secure a spot in the Conference League with a commendable tally of five goals and four assists across all competitions. The Eagles have proactively prepared for his departure by securing the signing of Anan Khalaili from Union for £21m.
Munoz will become Nottingham Forest's sixth signing of the summer transfer window, joining Liam Delap, Usman Diomande, Gustavo Sa, Xaver Schlager, and Steven Benda. Additionally, the club is eyeing at least one more signing ahead of the transfer deadline on Tuesday.
