Insider Simon Phillips has revealed new insights into the future of Chelsea's 25-year-old forward Nicolas Jackson.
According to Phillips:
Nicolas Jackson is keen to stay at Chelsea and fight for his place under head coach Xabi Alonso.
The striker is aware of significant interest from Aston Villa and an unnamed club in Spain, but he is set on continuing his career in London. He thoroughly enjoyed working under Alonso during the pre-season tour.
Following his return from a loan spell with Bayern Munich, Jackson’s future was uncertain, particularly with Aston Villa's Unai Emery well-acquainted with the forward's capabilities from their time together at Villarreal.
However, his positive experiences working with Xabi Alonso during pre-season have encouraged the Senegalese forward to turn down exit options and aim to earn the trust of the Blues' new coaching staff.
