Liverpool are undergoing a significant reshuffle in their defensive line. Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez could leave the club at the end of the season.
Over the past year, the Reds have made several signings, adding Giovanni Leoni, Jeremy Jacques, Ifeanyi Ndukwe, and Mor Tall Ndiaye to their ranks.
Additionally, they hold a buy-back option on 23-year-old defender Jarell Kuanza. The Englishman made the switch to Bayer Leverkusen for £30 million back in 2025, but Liverpool have the chance to bring him back in 2027.
Since moving to Germany, Kuanza has blossomed into a true star and even made his debut for the England national team. His performances have also attracted the interest of Real Madrid.
According to SPORT BILD:
"Real Madrid have shown strong interest in Kuanza, who moved to Bayer from Liverpool for a record €35 million after winning the European Under-21 Championship in 2025. Kuanza signed a contract until 2030 and has become a fully-fledged player for the England team. Jude Bellingham, his close friend from the national side, plays for Real, and the Spanish club is closely monitoring the Bayer defender. This interest comes as they expect to need at least two new defenders next summer."
Previously, Jose Mourinho's side has successfully lured players like Ibrahima Konate and Trent Alexander-Arnold away from Liverpool. Now, they could be on the verge of disrupting the Reds' plans yet again.
