Chelsea midfielder Moisés Caicedo received eight penalty points and a £1,444 fine for driving without a valid licence and insurance.

Midfielder Moisés Caicedo has received eight penalty points and been fined £1,444 after being found guilty of driving without a valid licence and insurance.

According to the Daily Mail, the 24-year-old player appeared before Crawley Magistrates' Court this week. The case relates to an incident in April 2025 near Chelsea's training ground in Cobham.

Caicedo was stopped while driving an Audi RSQ8 worth approximately £160,000, which was subsequently seized. Chelsea previously described the matter as a "personal issue".

As a result of the court's decision, Caicedo now has eight penalty points on his licence, leaving him just four points shy of the 12-point threshold, which could result in a driving ban under standard regulations in England.

The footballer is also required to register the necessary paperwork for the vehicle.

This incident comes amid Caicedo's struggles with a calf injury during the current season. The Ecuadorian has been with Chelsea since 2023, when the London club acquired him from Brighton for £115 million.
