Mateo Kovacic has spoken about the managerial change at Manchester City, believing Pep Guardiola cannot be replaced.
However, the arrival of Enzo Maresca will refresh the team and benefit them.
“City and Pep – it's a connection that, as you feel, will never end, and it has lasted ten years,” said Kovacic.
“Especially for those players who have been with him longer, it has been unusual because you get used to one style of football, one style of training, and now it’s something different.”
“But I also think it’s nice to change and experience something new, so it will definitely benefit us,” added the 32-year-old midfielder.
Kovacic is working under Maresca for the first time, as they had not previously crossed paths at either Manchester City or Chelsea.
