Micky van de Ven has been appointed the new captain of Tottenham. Roberto De Zerbi has named a five-player leadership council including van de Ven, Porro, Davies, Maddison, and Gray.

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Roberto De Zerbi has officially confirmed that Micky van de Ven will take on the role of permanent captain for the Spurs.

Van de Ven steps into this leadership position after the departure of Cristian Romero to Atletico Madrid.

De Zerbi has also named a leadership group comprising five players, establishing a clear hierarchy of vice-captains.

“The new captain is Micky van de Ven. The second is Pedro Porro, the third is Ben Davies, fourth is James Maddison, and fifth is Archie Gray. Why five? Because I want to see as many leaders on the pitch as possible so that everyone is clear on their roles and status. Each of them deserves to be a captain or to be part of this group,” De Zerbi stated.
