Manchester United are making every effort to protect the future of their 15-year-old prodigy, Jay Jay Gabriel. The club is preparing a scholarship contract for the young striker along with a pre-contract agreement for a professional deal he can sign in 2027 when he turns 17.
Records and rapid ascent
Gabriel is hailed as one of the most gifted players of his age in the world.
At just 14 years old, he made history by becoming the youngest player to represent United at U18 level in early 2025.
He was later given the number 95 shirt for the first team, was named the U18 Premier League Player of the Season, and made his debut for the senior squad in a friendly against Atletico Madrid in Stockholm.
Top clubs vie for the wonderkid
When Gabriel turns 16 this autumn, he will be eligible to sign a scholarship contract; however, this won't fully shield Manchester United from the advances of rival clubs.
The most prominent threat to the Manchester side comes from Chelsea, who are actively seeking the best young talents across England. In addition to the Blues, clubs such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Borussia Dortmund, along with Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester City, and Liverpool, have been monitoring Gabriel's development since he was 13.
Despite facing considerable pressure from competitors, Manchester United remain confident that they can convince Gabriel and his camp to stay at Old Trafford, where a clear pathway to the first team has already been established for him.
