RB Leipzig's David Raum is set to join Manchester United for £30 million in January after agreeing to the transfer.

Manchester United have received the green light to pursue RB Leipzig left-back David Raum in the upcoming January transfer window, as the 28-year-old Germany international appears open to the switch.

Initially, the club had targeted Lewis Hall from Newcastle as their primary option. However, given Hall's hefty £70 million price tag and significant investments needed to bolster their midfield, United have had to reconsider. With Luke Shaw's injury woes leaving them short in the left-back department, the Red Devils are again on the hunt for defensive reinforcements.

According to TEAMtalk, Raum, valued at around £30 million, has given preliminary consent to join the Manchester side. His contract with Leipzig is nearing its end, and although the club aims to negotiate a renewal, the lack of an agreement makes him a feasible target for United this January.

In addition, Manchester United are also monitoring Barcelona defender Alejandro Balde as an alternative option. The young Spaniard has become more receptive to a move to England due to limited playing time this season.
