Manchester United will compete with Arsenal for defender Jarrell Quansah. Liverpool failed to activate an €80 million buy-out; the player wants to return to the Premier League.

Manchester United are set to go head-to-head with Arsenal in the battle for the signature of 23-year-old defender Jarrell Quansah, currently at Bayer Leverkusen and part of the England squad.

The player himself is extremely keen on a return to the Premier League, and both clubs view the versatile centre-back as the perfect addition to strengthen their defensive line ahead of the deadline.

This summer, Liverpool had a primary option to re-sign their former academy product for €80 million (£70 million), but the Merseysiders opted not to take up this option, and the deadline for activating the clause has officially passed.

Future buy-back options for the Reds will drop to €60–65 million (£52 million) only in the summer of 2027, but the Gunners and the Mancunians are keen to secure the defender right now.
