Manchester United are actively exploring the potential signing of 20-year-old German centre-back Finn Jeltsch from Stuttgart as part of a long-term defensive overhaul.
According to transfer expert Ekrem Konur via CaughtOffside, United's scouting team has submitted overwhelmingly positive reports on the player, leading the club to seriously consider making official contact with their German counterparts.
United value Jeltsch's technical prowess, his composure under pressure, and his first-pass culture when transitioning from defence. The potential transfer fee for the talented defender is estimated at around €50 million. However, securing his services will not be straightforward; Liverpool, Arsenal, and Juventus are also keeping a close eye on the German's progress, with Bayern Munich seen as the frontrunners aiming to retain the nation’s top defensive prospect in the Bundesliga.
Jeltsch's current contract with Stuttgart runs until June 2030, which grants the German club a sturdy negotiating position. The player himself recently stated in comments to AFP that he is fully focused on performing for the Swabians and is inspired by the prospect of playing in the Champions League.
