Liverpool will need to shell out up to £40 million to secure one of Mexico's most promising young talents, Gilberto Mora. The Merseysiders have been keeping tabs on the 17-year-old attacking midfielder from Tijuana.
According to Football Insider, the Mexican club will not entertain offers below £30 million, and if serious competition arises, the price could soar to £40 million. Tijuana is also keen to incorporate additional clauses into the deal that could see them benefit from the player's future successes.
Interest in Mora isn't limited to England; Real Madrid, Barcelona, and PSG are also monitoring the young midfielder, suggesting that Liverpool faces stiff competition for his signature.
Recently, Mora became the youngest goal-scorer in the history of the Mexican national team, finding the net in a 1-1 draw against Colombia. His performances at the World Cup previously drew significant attention as well.
European clubs are somewhat constrained by Mora's age; he turns 18 on October 14. However, the summer transfer window is viewed as the most likely time for his move to Europe, with Tijuana looking to maximise their return.
Liverpool is also exploring other options to bolster their attacking line. The team, managed by Andoni Iraola, is keeping an eye on Brentford winger Kevin Schade, who has netted three goals in his first five matches of the current Premier League season.
