Turin-based Juventus have confirmed the loan signing of 29-year-old Italian goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario from London club Tottenham. According to insider Ben Jacobs, the deal is on a season-long loan.
The agreement includes an option to purchase for €8 million plus an additional €2 million in potential bonuses.
Following the breakdown of negotiations with Aston Villa over Emiliano Martinez, the Bianconeri quickly struck a deal with Spurs to secure the first-choice goalkeeper for the Italian national team.
This structured deal, with a reasonable buying option, helps Juventus manage their budget in line with financial fair play regulations ahead of the season kickoff.
Vicario returns to his home country after a successful stint with Empoli and Cagliari before making the jump to the Premier League in the summer of 2023.
