Jurgen Klopp has commented on the potential transfer of Chelsea winger Pedro Neto to Saudi side Al-Hilal. The German insists the London club should retain the player, warning that his sale would be a massive mistake by the hierarchy.

Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has shared his thoughts on the potential transfer of Chelsea winger Pedro Neto to Saudi club Al-Hilal.

“If Chelsea sell Pedro Neto, they will regret it. I’m serious. I understand that football is a business, but sometimes you need to look beyond the money,” said the German coach.

“Neto is the type of player who needs to be kept hold of because, when he's confident and in good form, he can turn a game on its head in seconds,” Klopp added.

Chelsea have spent vast sums to build their squad, and now they're considering letting a player like Neto leave for Saudi Arabia? It makes absolutely no sense to me,” he continued.

“Give him a full season without constantly questioning his future, and you’ll see a completely different Pedro Neto,” the manager insisted.

“And when he starts scoring and creating goals elsewhere, the Chelsea fans will be asking one question: ‘Why did we let him go?’” he noted.

“If I were in Chelsea's shoes, I would keep him. Because, believe me, selling Pedro Neto could become one of their biggest mistakes,” Klopp concluded.
