Chelsea forward Joao Pedro is facing a potential three-week layoff due to a knee injury. According to ESPN Brasil, the 24-year-old sustained the injury during the Premier League clash with Hull City, which finished in a 2-2 draw.
After experiencing discomfort, Pedro underwent a scan at a London clinic on Tuesday. Medical staff have recommended a rest period of at least three weeks. The results have also been communicated to the Brazilian Football Confederation.
On Wednesday, Pedro was ruled out of Brazil's upcoming friendlies against Australia and India, with Fluminense's Mateus Martinelli stepping in to replace him.
However, Xabi Alonso has not officially ruled Pedro out of Friday's fixture against Brentford.
Pedro had made a thrilling start to the season, scoring three goals and providing one assist in four Premier League matches. He was named Player of the Month for August.
