Technical director Jason Wilcox has given an interview addressing the club's transfer activity as the summer window draws to a close.
Wilcox reassured fans that the club shares their ambitions and is actively working in the market:
I completely understand the supporters. They want to see the team get stronger, and we want exactly the same.
Everyone can see we are exploring different options. Carlos is already on his way to us, but we are still weighing up other possibilities.
We don’t want to make hasty decisions, but if we are serious about challenging for top honours, we must fully equip the squad.
Our aim is to build Manchester United into a team with elite quality in every position and sufficient depth to compete throughout the season. We want to become a side that no one wants to play against. That is what we are striving for.
