Ipswich Town and Nottingham Forest are among the clubs weighing up a move for Chelsea striker Liam Delap. According to The Independent, the 23-year-old's time at Stamford Bridge appears to be coming to an end.
Delap has fallen out of favour at Chelsea with Joao Pedro being established as the team's main forward. Currently, he is training separately from the first-team squad, which only fuels speculation about his imminent departure.
The situation has become even more complex for Delap following the appointment of Xabi Alonso as head coach, who has opted for different players in the attacking line. It's worth noting that Chelsea bought him from Ipswich for £30 million last summer after the Tractor Boys were relegated from the Premier League.
In his debut season with the Blues, the forward struggled to make an impact, managing just one goal in the Premier League. Now, he is on the hunt for a new team to reboot his career, while his former club shows a keen interest in re-signing their academy product.
