Harry Redknapp remains confident that Tottenham can achieve a top-four or top-six finish despite their worst-ever start to a Premier League season, with Roberto De Zerbi's team still waiting for their first win.

Harry Redknapp is holding firm in his belief that Tottenham can turn their season around, despite a catastrophic start that has seen the club linger at the bottom of the Premier League table.

After five matches, Spurs find themselves rock bottom with no wins to their name, having recorded two draws and three defeats, with a mere two goals scored and eight conceded.

This dismal performance marks the worst start in the club’s Premier League history, and they’ve already been eliminated from the League Cup.

Redknapp, who managed the north London side in the past, admitted he had previously backed Spurs for a top finish and isn’t ready to abandon that prediction just yet:

I spoke about a top-four, top-five, or top-six finish. That was part of my bet before the season. Things look bleak right now, but I still believe they can turn it around.

With the squad they have, they really should be able to do it. Bottom place is just incredible. They've got a good manager and talented players. Clearly, something isn’t right, but I’m not quite sure what it is.

Over the summer, Tottenham splashed approximately £332 million on ten new signings, including Matheus Fernandes, Sandro Tonali, Savinho, and Jan Paul van Hecke, but those significant investments have yet to yield results.

Redknapp feels the troubles at the club cannot solely be attributed to the quality of the players. He pointed out that some of the new signings were not undisputed leaders in their previous teams.

He added:

I heard a good point: they’ve been signing players who weren't always regulars in their former clubs. These aren’t footballers who have become accustomed to winning consistently. Some have even faced relegation.

Yet, you still expect a team with this caliber of players to finish at least in the top six. I still believe my bet will pay off by the end of the season. But they need to act quickly and start addressing the situation.
