Former Tottenham goalkeeper Michel Vorm shared the success of his barbershop in Utrecht and plans to open new locations.

Former goalkeeper of Tottenham and Swansea City, Michel Vorm, has shared his ambitions to scale up his barbershop business after stepping away from professional football.

The 42-year-old Dutchman, who hung up his gloves in 2020, has chosen the path of entrepreneurship over coaching or punditry. In an interview with the club's official website, Vorm provided insight into his life post-football:

What have I been up to since retiring? I'm not directly involved in football anymore. I own a barbershop, and it's going really well. I'm planning to open a few more,

Vorm's interest in this venture has personal roots; his father ran a barbershop in the Netherlands, which immersed him in the trade from a young age. In 2020, he opened Maesons in Utrecht alongside barber Mason Bennett, a spot offering a comprehensive grooming experience for men. This passion even manifested during his playing days: at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, Vorm invited Bennett to cut the hair of the Netherlands national team players.

Throughout his career, Vorm featured for Swansea City, helping them lift the League Cup in 2013, and Tottenham, where he reached the Champions League final in 2019. He also clinched a bronze medal at the 2014 World Cup with the Netherlands. Beyond his barbershop, the former player is also involved in developing padel courts and serves as an ambassador for a watch and jewellery company in Amsterdam.
