The CEO of Manchester City, Ferrán Soriano, has reached out to the club's staff following the release of the Premier League's verdict regarding financial misconduct. In his message, he stated that the document reflects the commission's opinion, unfavourable to the club's interests, but categorically labelled all accusations as false.
Soriano emphasised that the case centres on a single incorrect claim alleging that the personal funds of the owners were secretly funnelled into the club through Abu Dhabi sponsors. According to him, the club has provided irrefutable evidence, including bank statements, money transfers, and witness testimonies to disprove this assertion. The CEO also mentioned that the club's lawyers are preparing an appeal, recalling their successful defence at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in 2020. In closing, Soriano urged staff to stay focused on their work and promised to protect the club's reputation using all available legal avenues.
