The chief executive of Manchester City, Ferran Soriano, has alerted fans and stakeholders to the drawn-out nature of the ongoing legal dispute with the Premier League. Speaking at a European football clubs' board meeting in Copenhagen, he addressed the implications of the situation.
The club has already been found guilty on 114 charges relating to financial breaches following hearings that concluded in late 2024. Many of these allegations stem from City's refusal to cooperate with the league's investigation, which began back in 2018.
Manchester City are preparing to appeal the verdict received. In a candid conversation with fellow club executives, Soriano reflected on the lengthy process that has unfolded:
“It took eight years to get to this point. And it will take much longer than that.”
