According to Sky Sports News journalist Dharmesh Sheth, the fixed transfer fee will be £19.4 million, with Bayer set to receive up to £23.5 million if all bonuses are included.

If the final stages of the deal go to plan, Ipswich could officially announce the transfer within the next 24 hours.

Palacios is also set to become the first World Cup champion to play for Ipswich, having been part of the Argentine squad that lifted the trophy in 2022.
