15-Second Brief
New Manchester City boss Enzo Mareska talked about his meeting with Pep Guardiola before taking up his role. The Italian expressed his desire to hear from his predecessor, despite wanting to form his own impression of the team.

Enzo Mareska, the new manager of Manchester City, has confirmed that he had discussions with Pep Guardiola. Their conversation took place prior to his official appointment this summer.

The Italian revealed that he was eager to gather Guardiola's insights about the squad.

"We spent a few hours together. We had planned to share part of the summer break even before the season ended," Mareska said.

Maraske noted that while he typically prefers to approach situations with a fresh perspective, Guardiola's extensive experience was invaluable.

"Sometimes I like to come in with a blank slate to see things for myself. But he's been here for so long, and he has his opinions. At the same time, you have to come and see everything for yourself, to get the full picture," the manager added.
