Marca denies imminent transfer of Rodri from Manchester City to Barcelona. Deku will meet with Hugo Viana for further talks. City want 70 million euros, while the Catalans are preparing a second offer with bonuses after a 45 million bid was rejected.

Spanish outlet Marca has denied claims that Barcelona and Manchester City are set to agree on a transfer for Rodri in the next 48 hours.

The deal is still a way off, but Barcelona's sporting director Deku is set to meet with his counterpart at City, Hugo Viana, in a bid to accelerate the negotiations.

Barcelona are readying a second bid after their initial offer of around 45 million euros was turned down by the Premier League champions.

Manchester City are holding out for 70 million euros for the midfielder, with the Spanish club hoping to bridge the gap through performance-related bonuses.

It seems that manager Hansi Flick will have to wait a little longer before the Spanish international joins his squad.
