Liverpool striker and Netherlands international Cody Gakpo has outlined his role preferences on the pitch amid ongoing transfer speculation linking him with a move to London club Tottenham Hotspur.
Although the Dutch forward has regularly been deployed as a central striker at Liverpool, he has expressed that he feels most comfortable and effective on the left wing. It was from this position that Gakpo shone during Euro 2024, helping his national team reach the semi-finals while consistently delivering impressive performances.
Tottenham's head coach, Roberto De Zerbi, sees the 27-year-old as a key target to bolster his attacking options in the current summer transfer window. However, Liverpool's hierarchy is not planning to let the player go without signing a suitable replacement on the wing.
