Burnley have confirmed the addition of 21-year-old centre-back Max Allen on a season-long loan from Manchester City.
Allen is set to spend the 2026/27 Championship campaign at Turf Moor after gaining valuable experience on loan at Watford last season.
“I’m absolutely buzzing, I can’t wait to get started. I had my first training session today, and I’m really enjoying it: I’ve met the manager and my teammates,” Allen said.
“I first heard about the interest a couple of months ago, and I’m so glad the deal has been done. Honestly, it’s a huge club, a Premier League-level team, and I’m just excited to be here,” he added.
Born in Bristol, Allen kicked off his career in Southampton's academy before making a move to Manchester City in 2021. He quickly climbed through the ranks and signed his first professional contract just a year later.
Allen has been a key player for City's U21 side and has even made appearances for the first team, being included in the squad for a Champions League match against Red Star in 2023 and later featuring in a Premier League game against Everton.
Last summer, he went on loan to Watford, where he made 17 appearances before returning to Manchester in January.
