15-Second Brief
Brighton face nine matches in under a month, including two against Manchester City. Tony Bloom explained that the club intentionally expanded the squad over the summer to prepare for a congested schedule, and views the Conference League as a trophy within reach.

Brighton are gearing up for one of the most intense periods of the season, with nine fixtures scheduled in less than a month following the international break. Owner Tony Bloom is optimistic that the summer transfer window has sufficiently reinforced the squad for this upcoming challenge.

The Seagulls currently sit third in the Premier League after five rounds, having achieved three impressive wins before the break: a 5-0 demolition of Coventry, a thrilling 3-2 triumph over Manchester United, and a 3-0 victory against Arsenal.

Bloom stated:

We have started the season brilliantly. The last three matches may well be the best in the club's history, and our performance against Arsenal can certainly be considered the finest.

We are all very pleased, but this is just the beginning. There’s a long season ahead of us.

As players return from international duty, the fixture list intensifies. Brighton will face Sunderland, Kauno Zalgiris, Crystal Palace, Jablonec, Liverpool, and have two away matches against Manchester City, before rounding off with clashes against Getafe and Brentford.

Bloom added:

We are heading into a very challenging series of matches after the international break. We are preparing well, keeping calm, and looking forward to what’s next.

This packed schedule has been a driving force behind Brighton's active efforts in the transfer market. The squad saw new arrivals in Luka Vushkovich, Pascal Struijk, Costinha, Joao Hajam, Michal Svoboda, Chema Andres, Zadok Johann and Femi Aziz during the summer.

Injuries have also posed a challenge; Bloom noted that in August, the club was dealing with ten concurrent injuries:

In August, we faced ten injuries at once. We recognised that European competitions were on the horizon, so we needed to ensure we had enough players available.

We understand how tough it is to play on Thursday evenings and then again on Sunday. As a club, we have somewhat adjusted to this challenge. We know what the calendar looks like after the international break, and I believe we are fully prepared for it.

Bloom has also shared his ambitions for the Europa Conference League, a tournament that English clubs have enjoyed success in recently, with Chelsea, West Ham, and Crystal Palace all lifting silverware:

Of course, winning leagues and trophies is incredibly difficult. But I genuinely believe we have a good chance. The Conference League is certainly a tournament we can aspire to win.

Brighton's first match after the break will be an away encounter against Sunderland, kicking off a run of games approximately every three to four days.
