Club Brugge's forward Nicolo Tresoldi has become a target for several top European sides: Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham and Barcelona.
With a shortage of quality attacking players in the transfer market, the 21-year-old striker is garnering more attention as the summer window draws to a close. Arsenal had initially shown interest in the forward, who is touted as a future star for the German national team due to his impressive scoring record at youth level, but the Gunners have since withdrawn from the race.
Roma made a move to sign the player, but Brugge rejected their €35 million offer, indicating they are not willing to part with their talent on the cheap.
Transfer valued at €50 million and competition in the Premier League
The estimated price for the 21-year-old Germany U-21 international ranges from €45 to €50 million, a fee that is attractive for Premier League clubs in today’s market.
- Manchester United see him as potential competition for Benjamin Sesko, although much of this transfer hinges on the future of Joshua Zirkzee, whom the Red Devils are looking to sell in the coming weeks.
- Chelsea are prepared to let Liam Delap and Nicolas Jackson go, which would pave the way for Tresoldi to provide competition for Joao Pedro.
- Tottenham are exploring attacking options following the end of Randal Kolo Muani's loan.
Barcelona speeds up negotiations
Despite strong interest from England, Barcelona is currently regarded as the frontrunner in the chase for the player. The Catalans are hastening negotiations in light of Robert Lewandowski's departure as a free agent and Ferran Torres’ impending transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.
Initially, Julian Alvarez was the top target for the Blaugrana, but Atletico have refused to sell their star to a direct rival. Consequently, signing Tresoldi is now viewed as an excellent alternative for Barcelona.
