15-Second Brief
Barcelona are interested in 26-year-old Tottenham right-back Pedro Porro as a potential replacement for Jules Kounde. However, a transfer appears highly unlikely due to the Spaniard's contract until 2031 and Spurs' unwillingness to sell a key asset.
Barcelona are closely monitoring Tottenham and Spain defender Pedro Porro. According to Super Deporte, the Catalan club is viewing the 26-year-old as a priority option for their right-back position.
Following impressive performances in the Premier League and at the recent World Cup, Porro has established himself as one of the most reliable and effective full-backs in Europe, capable of excelling both defensively and offensively. With the potential departure of Jules Kounde, signing the Spaniard appears to be a perfect reinforcement for the Blaugrana.
Challenges in a potential deal
Despite the allure of a return home for the player, this transfer seems highly unlikely for several reasons:
- Long contract: Porro recently signed a new contract with Tottenham that runs until 2031.
- Spurs' position: The London club is building an ambitious project for the upcoming season and are adamantly not keen to part ways with one of their key players.
- Financial factor: Given their lack of need to sell, Tottenham will demand an astronomical fee that would be incredibly challenging for Barcelona to meet.
