Aston Villa are reportedly making solid strides in negotiations with Chelsea over the transfer of Nicolas Jackson, according to insider Nicolo Schira.
The striker has already given his nod of approval and is ready to move to Villa Park.
Villa's manager, Unai Emery, is particularly keen on this transfer, having maintained a strong relationship with Jackson from their time together in Spain.
However, the potential deal is proving to be quite intricate. As mentioned by Sky Sports, Aston Villa cannot simply take Jackson on loan.
This stems from strict regulations in the Premier League. The Birmingham club has previously borrowed Alejandro Garnacho from Chelsea. Under the league's rules, clubs are prohibited from loaning two players from the same top-flight team simultaneously.
There’s also another significant legal twist to navigate. If a full transfer from Chelsea to Aston Villa occurs within 45 days of Morgan Rogers’ recent move back to Chelsea for £117 million, UEFA rules will classify it as a player exchange deal.
