Birmingham's Aston Villa have entered active negotiations with West Ham United regarding the acquisition of 28-year-old right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
At the same time, the club is clearing space on their right flank as 20-year-old Serbian full-back Kosta Nedeljkovic has been given the green light to move to Scottish side Rangers. This deal is set up as a one-year loan with an obligation to buy for £4 million.
Under Unai Emery, Villa are on the lookout for an experienced and reliable defender to provide stiff competition for Matt Cash. With the Hammers having dropped out of the top flight, Villa is offering Wan-Bissaka a chance to return to the Premier League.
The young Serbian defender will head to Ibrox in search of regular playing time. The clause for making the loan permanent for £4 million will be triggered upon achieving a specified number of matches.
