Arsenal beat Lille 3-0 in their Champions League match at Emirates Stadium.
The Londoners faced a tough challenge in the first half as they struggled to penetrate Lille's organised defence. They had a couple of chances early on, with Bruno Guimaraes nearly finding the net from close range after a cross from Jurriën Timber, only to miss the target.
Lille's compact midfield kept the hosts at bay and even had the ball in the back of the net through Ayase Ueda, but the goal was ruled out for offside following Hakon Haraldsson's infringement earlier in the move.
Despite Arsenal's persistence, their efforts lacked the finishing touch. Mikel Merino sent a shot soaring over the crossbar, and just before the half-time whistle, Lille goalkeeper Berke Ozer made a crucial save to deny Guimaraes yet again.
Timber, Eze and Saka turn the tide
The breakthrough came for Arsenal shortly after the interval. On the 64th minute, Jurriën Timber expertly controlled a pass from Noni Madueke and delicately lobbed the ball over Ozer to put the home side ahead.
Just three minutes later, Eberechi Eze doubled the advantage, finishing off a precise cross from Bukayo Saka, who had just entered the fray.
By the 71st minute, Saka added his name to the scoresheet, calmly finishing a move set up by Kai Havertz. In a whirlwind eight-minute spell, Arsenal had scored three times, putting the game beyond doubt.
Lille attempted to respond but struggled to find their rhythm. Ozer made another vital save to deny Guimaraes, but it was clear that the French side would leave empty-handed.
Arsenal's unbeaten run continues
This victory extends Arsenal's unbeaten streak in European group stages to an impressive 30 matches. Over their last 32 encounters, they have claimed 26 victories, drawn four times, and recorded just two defeats.
Lille, on the other hand, faced their ninth consecutive away defeat in European competitions against English clubs and are yet to collect any points after two matches in this season's group stage.
