Piero Incapie is poised to make a potential return to Arsenal's line-up for their important match against Leeds. The defender has been through a recovery process from his groin injury, but Mikel Arteta and his coaching staff will confirm his availability following the final training session.
Incapie joined Arsenal on loan from Bayer Leverkusen last summer, and earlier this year, the London club secured his permanent transfer. In his debut season, the Ecuadorian played an impressive 39 matches, amassing 2763 minutes of play, filling both centre-back and left-back roles. He later journeyed with the Ecuador national team to the World Cup, where he featured in four games.
However, late returns from international duty hampered his pre-season preparations, and injuries have limited his involvement this season to just 152 minutes across four matches. The previous international break saw him miss out due to his groin concerns, allowing him the time necessary to focus on his recovery and condition.
Reports indicate that Incapie's condition has visibly improved, with Ecuador's medical staff also monitoring his progress ahead of their November fixtures.
Arsenal will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing 3-0 defeat against Brighton. While hopes are high that Incapie can be included in the squad for the Leeds fixture, only time will tell if he is deemed fit. Should he miss out this weekend, his next opportunity to accrue minutes may come in the Champions League against Lille on Tuesday.
