Arsenal are considering Trent Alexander-Arnold as a potential enhancement for their right-back position. According to Fussball-News, citing Ekrem Konur, the London club is closely monitoring the situation of the English defender at Real Madrid.
One of the reasons for this interest stems from Ben White's ongoing injury issues. Arsenal are planning to refresh their right-back slot no later than summer 2027, but they could move sooner if a suitable opportunity arises in January.
ALEXANDER-ARNOLD NOT A FIXTURE IN THE LINEUP
The 27-year-old moved from Liverpool to Real Madrid in the summer of 2025, but has yet to establish himself as a regular starter in the Spanish capital.
Nevertheless, Alexander-Arnold is determined to make his mark at the Santiago Bernabeu. Reports suggest he is open to exploring other top projects if offered a significant role and guaranteed playing time.
Currently, Denzel Dumfries holds a slight edge in the fight for the right flank position. However, manager Jose Mourinho still values Alexander-Arnold's unique qualities in attacking play.
Interestingly, he is also sometimes deployed in central midfield, where his ability to initiate attacks gives Real Madrid an additional option in ball progression.
REAL MADRID HAVE NO PLANS TO SELL IN JANUARY
Despite Arsenal's interest, the Madrid club is not contemplating the sale of Alexander-Arnold at present.
Moreover, a loan move in January is also not on Real's agenda.
As it stands, there are no concrete discussions between Arsenal, Real Madrid, or the player's representatives. However, closer to the winter window, both parties could begin preliminary explorations, especially as Mourinho's player hierarchy becomes clearer.
According to sources, any negotiations for a full transfer could require a fee in the region of €70-80 million, with Alexander-Arnold's current market valuation around €60 million.
