Sources close to the Dutch tactician claim he feels let down by the hierarchy, as the club failed to honour agreements regarding previously promised bonuses and payments following their title-winning season. Moreover, after a dip in results, several of the squad's experienced players reportedly began to disrespect their manager.
Slot's stance is emphatic and has been conveyed through his inner circle:
I delivered a championship title for them. The agreements regarding financial payments were blatantly breached. Then the dressing room simply turned against me. I have no intention of staying and pretending that such treatment is acceptable.
The Dutch coach is convinced that the club abandoned him in two critical areas—financially and in terms of team discipline.
