15-Second Brief
22-year-old Allan made a triumphant debut for Manchester City: scoring and assisting in the League Cup match against Norwich City (5-0). The feelings of the £32.5 million newcomer after the game.

22-year-old Brazilian newcomer Allan could hardly have wished for a better start to his career in England. In his official debut for Manchester City in the League Cup against Norwich City (5-0), the midfielder marked his arrival with a goal and an assist.

The midfielder showcased his potential instantly, despite moments during the match indicating that he still has some way to go in fully adapting to the new team. In the first half, the Brazilian capitalised on a mistake by Norwich's goalkeeper Daniel Grimshaw to open the scoring, and shortly after the interval, he found the back of the net himself.

In an interview with Globo Esporte, Allan admitted he was extremely nervous before stepping onto the pitch:

I am incredibly happy. I was filled with nerves before my debut. I could never have imagined such a first match, even in my wildest dreams! I am very, very happy. Now I have to keep working hard to keep improving and bringing more and more value to City.

His confident display gives Allan an excellent emotional boost as he embarks on his English football journey. The midfielder moved to the Etihad this past summer from Palmeiras, signing a five-year contract with a transfer fee of £32.5 million, plus an additional £2.2 million in potential bonuses.
