The Spanish midfielder has reportedly agreed personal terms with Barcelona, with clubs in active discussions regarding a transfer fee estimated between £55–65 million. City have already seen Bernardo Silva depart to Real Madrid and John Stones move to Inter Milan this summer.

  • Update on Mac Allister: Journalist Ben Jacobs has confirmed that the Argentine's name has been mentioned internally at Manchester City, though no formal approaches have been made to Liverpool at this stage. The transfer is seen as tricky, as the Merseysiders are reluctant to part with one of their key players.
  • Alternative in Fernandez: City boss Enzo Maresca is also keen on signing Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea, someone he has worked with before. However, the London club are holding out for a hefty £120 million and are not keen on negotiating with a rival.
